Adding silica to pigments can not only prevent the precipitation of pigments, but also improve the adsorption of pigments and dyes and

improve dispersibility. When used as a filler for emulsified paints, it can improve thermal stability.

Silica has thixotropic properties. Adding a small amount of silica to the paint can eliminate the droplet sedimentation phenomenon in the

coating. In unsaturated polyester coatings, as long as 0.5-2% of silica is added, this coating can be applied on a vertical surface at a time of

500g/m2 without droplets and wrinkles.

In order to meet the requirements of coatings and ink matting agents for silica, foreign countries have developed and produced special matting

agents. When nitro varnish and similar coatings contain precipitated Silica Matting Agent, it can improve the non-precipitation performance of the

paint and make the coating easy to disperse, with only a small amount of thickening effect, good suspension, good matting properties, high

transparency and good wear resistance.

Adding 0.5% of silica to printing ink has good printing effect, can eliminate the influence of undispersed ink penetration, improve the washability of

printed materials, and increase the gloss of color.

In addition, silica is also used in pesticides, medicines, adhesives, toothpaste and daily cosmetics to varying degrees and plays various beneficial

functions.
