1. How can we get Silica Matting Agent in nature?

As we all know, silicon dioxide mainly comes from sand or quartz. After a series technical process to turn the

solid state silicon dioxide into the powder state silicon dioxide. Then we are using gel method or precipitation

method to change the silicon dioxide's performances like particle size, surface treatment, matte effect ability and

so on.

 

2. How can we use silicon dioxide into the ink pigments?

Silicon dioxide using in the pigments is often used as Thickener or additive.Before adding silicon dioxide into the ink

should make a formulation first. Normally silicon dioxide can be dispersed in water or eco-solvent. We should mixed 

it into the solvent first then add the mixture into the pigment which can prevent the pigment from mixing unevenly.

 

3. What affects can silicon dioxide make when it was added into ink pigments?

* Adhesion & Flow Speed - Silicon dioxide with special surface treatment can enhance the bad dispersion of silicon dioxide

and pigment's mixture. Silica Matting Agent with special surface treatment can also effect the ink's adhesion ability and

flow speed.

* High Matte Effect -Normally many pigment manufacturers try to decrease the pigments' reflect effect to prevent the bad

situation that might be caused by too strong light reflection. Adding specific measurment silicon dioxide into the ink pigments 

can make an excellent matte effect.

* Resistance ability - Chosing suitable silicon dioxide can help to prevent the pigments from water spill, tear, scratch and so on.
