What are the uses of increasing silica production capacity in the chemical industry?

As we all know, the call for an environmentally friendly green society is getting louder and louder, and environmentally friendly

flame retardant products have received special attention from consumers. Some relevant experts have strengthened the research

and application of environmentally friendly products to promote the rapid development and widespread application of flame

retardant products in my country.

Silica is added to polyethylene, and through special methods, silica can be evenly dispersed in the matrix to obtain a polyethylene

composite material with high wear resistance and high hardness. The surface of silica is modified by grafting polymerization, and

the polymer macromolecular chain is used to effectively block nanoparticles and reduce their agglomeration degree, and then it

is used to fill polypropylene. A nano-Si02/PP composite material with excellent comprehensive performance is prepared by blending

process. At low addition, the toughness of polypropylene can be increased by about two times. If an appropriate amount of elastomer

is added to the composite system, while maintaining the rigidity and tensile strength of polypropylene, the notch impact resistance of

polypropylene can be increased by about 3 times. Analysis shows that silica and elastomer can work synergistically to achieve the purpose

of strengthening and toughening polypropylene.

The nano-SiO2/PMMA plastic prepared by adding silica to PMMA by blending can greatly improve the performance of the material. When

the addition amount is 4%, the notched impact strength of PMMA can be increased by more than 80%, and the prepared composite material

has good optical transparency. In the blending system of plastic and other polymers. Silica can be added to improve the compatibility of the

two phases. For example, adding silica modified by styrene or methylchlorosilane to the blending system of Ps and PP can reduce the

interfacial tension between the phases, reduce the cloud point temperature, and improve the compatibility of the two.

Adding silica to epoxy resin can significantly improve its brittleness, overcome the defects of reduced rigidity and strength of the material

caused by toughening of elastomers, and achieve the purpose of strengthening and toughening. When the addition amount is 3wt%, the

impact strength of the composite system can be increased by 40%, and the tensile strength can be increased by 21%. If the nano-silica is

modified by a coupling agent, its impact toughness can be increased by 124%, and the tensile performance can be increased by 30%. In

addition, the hardness, wear resistance, temperature resistance and insulation properties of the product are also improved.
