Description
Matting Agent, Silica Matting Agent and Paint Matting Agent is synthetic amorphous micronized Precipitated Silica
appearing as white powder specially used for printing inks. There are two types of pigment used in offset printing inks.
Organic pigment, which is made from carbon, is used for making black inks. Inorganic pigment, which are make by
mixing various chemicals together, are used for colored inks, such like silica matting agent combine with other chemical
materials to make the matte finish inks.

Matting agents with smaller average particle size do not give a quality matting effect, but they produce smooth paint films
In contrast, products with larger particle sizes are stronger in matting efficiency but the paint film surface is not so smooth.
Matting agents with large particles show a tendency to build up separation and sedimentation in clear paint systems during
storing time
