What is matting additive?

Matting additive is also called as Matting Agent. Matting agent is often used on the surface of coating to change the coatings, 

pigments and ink's surface characters. Using matting agent is to decrease coating's surface glossiness but also provides extra 

technical abilities. Normally using matting agent is including waxes of polyethylene, polypropylene, carnauba wax, amide and

polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) can be used as matting additives. Silica is also the ideal choice to used as matting agent.
