Silicon dioxide is an ideal choice in water based coating due to its excellent matte effect,transparency and scratches 

resistance.It is a fine white powder and it is commonly added into coatings formulation to decrease the glossy coatings.

The working guideline of silicon dioxide is to disperse the light which can avoid the situation of discoloration due to light 

reflection.The particle size of silicon dioxide also determines the matte effect. When its particle size is smaller, the matte 

effect is better.

Silicon dioxide is widely used in water based coating including wooden coating,furniture coating, automotive coating and 

industrial coating. Silicon dioxide is capatible with different chemical solvents. There are several advantages to add silicon 

dioxide into water based coatings.They are easy to disperse, have low oil absorption, and do not affect the viscosity or stability 

of the coating. They also offer excellent abrasion resistance, which is important in high traffic areas.

In addition,silica dioxide matting agents are an excellent choice for achieving a matte finish in water-based coatings, offering 

superior matting efficiency, transparency, and scratch resistance.
