What is economical coating?

What factors of silica will effect coating's properties?

As the application of paint in more and more fields, people have different requirements for its glossiness. Not only high glossiness

is needed, but also reduced glossiness is needed, such as car interiors, furniture wood, and building buildings. Matting powder is a

substance that reduces the glossiness of paint.

After the paint is applied, when the solvent of the coating evaporates, its surface will shrink, and the particles of the matting powder

will form a layer of concave and convex surface on the surface of the coating that is not easily detected by the naked eye, scattering

the irradiated light, and the glossiness of the coating will gradually decrease and no longer be "dazzling". This is why the light of car

interiors and furniture wood is soft and does not flicker on the surface.

Matting powder is excellent in paint both from the perspective of environmental protection and application performance. In terms of

environmental protection, it is very consistent with the physiological and hygienic requirements of the human body, especially it is very

beneficial to people's aesthetic vision; the application performance mainly includes the following points:

1. Matting. The main role of matting powder in paint.

2. Anti-sinking. The biggest problem faced by water-based paint when using matting powder is that its solvent is water, which is easy to

hard precipitate. Dispersing anti-settling agents are often needed. If there is no dispersing anti-settling agent, it is recommended to use

matting powder treated with wax.

3. Transparency. In addition to high matting efficiency, a good matting powder is one that does not affect the original transparency of the

coating.

4. Thixotropy. The thixotropic property is related to the oil absorption of the matting powder. The smaller the oil absorption, the smaller the

thickening effect on the paint.

5. Dispersibility. Matting powder has a sponge-like structure. Avoid long-term high-speed dispersion or grinding, otherwise it will destroy its

structure and affect the matting effect.

6. Surface effect. Matting powder with a small average particle size feels more delicate. If you have requirements for surface effects, you can

use wax-treated matting powder, which has a better silky feel.

What can we use silicon dioxide in economical coating?

We can choose an equalitively high grade silicon dioxide to use in economical coating. Silicon dioxide can be used as filler in this coating

Due to its excellent properties, silicon dioxide can enhance coating's using time. Silicon dioxide is a normal material that can be found in sand,

quartz and other substances on the earth. We first grind it from solid state to liquid state, then we use precipitation method to change silicon

dioxide's performances which can be processed to apply in different areas. So it is not so complex to change the silicon dioxide and it also will

not be sold in very high price.
