Silicon dioxide has various applications. One application of silicon dioxide is to use it as silica matt hardener. The main
function of using matt hardener in coating is to enhance coating's using properties.
1) When using matt hardener in coating can improve the coating's hardeness especially in UV radiation curing coating.
The improving level might achieve up to 2.5 times. Besides, adding matt hardener into coating can also enhance coating's
scratches resistance.
2) Using silica matt hardener can also improve coating's adhesion properties which can make the coating will not easy to
crack from the objects. On the other words, it can extend coating's using time.
3) Using silica dioxide as matt hardener in coating can reduce coating's glossiness.Modified silica can form coatings with low
gloss at loadings as low as 10% wt.
4) Using matt hardener is eco friendly and it also has market protential. Normally, UV radiation curing coating belongs to
environmentally friendly coating.When it is added with modified silica, it can form a special coating with functional surface.
